One of my favorite state parks is Norris Dam State Park. I may be a little prejudice ..because it's so close to home. I can be at ND in about 25 minutes. Even after visiting other state parks though.. Norris still has alot going for it.

There are two campgrounds.. East (25 sites) and West (50 sites). My favorite is the West camping area. It's bigger.. and more secluded. West sets on top of the ridge and offers some pretty nice views.. especially when the trees are not full of leaves. When the trees are full.. just about every site in the west campground has a good amount of shade. West sites are paved.

Most of the sites pictured here are from the West camping area. Only sites #2 and #3 are in the East. Although I am not a big fan of the East campground.. sites #1, #2 and #3 are the best in my opinion.. they are a little bit removed from the main area.. and seem to offer a bit more "woodsy" feel.

Sites have tables, grills and/or fire rings with grates, electrical and water hookups. Some sites in the east primitive section lack these facilities. Modern bathhouses and dump stations are provided, and a laundromat is located near the park Village Green Complex adjacent to the pool and recreation center closest to the west campground. Be aware.. I have never used the swimming pool.. so I can't tell you much. The pool is not within walking distance.. but is a short drive from the west cg.

Sites are available only on a first-come, first-serve basis, and maximum stay limit is two weeks.
