COVE LAKE STATE PARK
Caryville, TN - October, 2009
Cove Lake is a great little place.. plus it's close to home. This time I camped in a site I had passed up before.. #6. It isn't down next to the lake.. or even in the most wooded part of the campground. But I liked this site because of the great view of the mountains and lake. Plus the site sits up high.. and if it rains, the water runs off pretty fast.
First cold weather camp for 2009. I don't mind the cold (too much).. it makes for a great time around the campfire.. but we did get a little rain on this trip. The rain I can do without. Daytime temperatures were mostly in the upper 40s to 50.. I think the night time lows may have dipped to near 40 or maybe even the upper 30s.
Dave and Darlene Kral.. and their son, Aaron.. joined us on this trip. It was the mainden voyage for the Kral's new Hybrid RV. Friday night we had chili.. it hit the spot! Darlene fixed a great breakfast Saturday morning. We spent most of Saturday around the campfire roasting hotdogs, sausages and marshmallows.
